Brad Capper is a born and bred “West Aussie” and played his first harmonica
at the age of 10. The 70’s pop hit “I’ll Be Gone” by the Aussie band
‘Spectrum’ inspired Brad and no doubt countless others, to seriously get
into his ‘Harp’ playing.
Completely self taught, he learnt simply by listening to great Harp players
on records and tapes and attempting to copy what he heard. Inspired by the
sounds of Little Walter, Sonny Boy Williamson 2, Charlie Mussellwhite, Sonny
Terry, Magic Dick of J.Geils Band, and The Ozark Mountain Daredevils.
This eclectic mix of Chicago and Country Blues, Mountain Music and Rock’ n
Roll developed Brad’s ability to play a diversity of Blues Harp styles. From
what Brad calls chugging ‘Chicken’ rhythms through to full blown Rock’n
Blues solos.
Brad has had the privilege of being an invited guest Harp player at Perth
Blues Club annual "Harp Attack” nights.
He
has also played with his guitarist mate Eliot Vlatko for over 18 years in a
duo called “Two Trains”. Also at times a trio with the addition of our
drummer - Lindsay Evans.
Two
Trains have played several times at the Mundaring Folk & Blues Club and
Perth Blues Club. They have played in various local prisons with Prison
Fellowship - and at Open Mic nights around Perth.
